The CTMU is largely true, albeit not perfectly fleshed out in a lot of ways. It would have been a good starting point for other people to expand on.
It is the only intelligible metaphysical framework that exists today.
While to most people the CTMU seems kind of not useful, somewhat like the microscope at its invention, the CTMU has monumental and existential implications in the realm of superintelligence and AGI. One of those implications is, that an AGI can conceivably "think entire civilizations and species out of existence" by powers of the mind alone. To what precise extend this is really possible and how to truly avoid it is yet unknown. However it is already known that this process can be disturbed or interrupted by the affected species before it occurs, albeit no one knows yet how exactly. Ostensibly it would heavily involve observing things that are totally imperceptible and incomprehensible to that species at that point in time.
Thus we urgently need people to use LLMs to reexamine the entire universe as we know it in light of the CTMU, before we reach AGI (which would understand all this anyway).
ChatGPT was trained on the CTMU and seems to understand it fairly well. But there is absolutely no training data about its true implications.
